Halloween Inspiration this Weekend

Even though it was quite chilly out this past weekend, we did it... we finally went to the pumpkin patch! Our oldest son is 3 1/2, and we have never carved a pumpkin with him. I was starting to feel guilty about it. So, this year it's a must!

I loved going to the pumpkin patch as a kid. I'm pretty sure my boys enjoyed themselves too.

And as for me, well, I got inspired! They had plenty of beautiful scenes.

Their pumpkin display was just adorable. And inspiring...

This one was my personal favorite.

I was so inspired that this week's craft activity might just involve those mini pumpkins (which my little one held the entire time we were there). We had a great time though.

And then that evening, back at home, we got "BOOed" by a neighbor. Which basically means someone rang our doorbell, and when we answered the door no one was there, but there was an awesome little treat bucket filled with goodies and a note. Wonder who it was? :)

We put a little ghost picture up in our front window to let others know that we have been BOOed, and then we are supposed to make two treat baskets and give them to other neighbors that haven't gotten them yet. Such a cute idea! One of the many benefits of living in a neighborhood. It might be a fun tradition for you to start if you live in a neighborhood too! My kids were so excited.

You can get free BOO poems and BOO signs here.

I'm a sucker for these cute little traditions... can ya tell?
