Boys' Bathroom Makeover

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a beautiful space inside your own home. You know how people talk about having a "runner's high"... Yeah, I never could relate to that. But how about a "decorating high" ???? Now that I understand. I know, I'm weird.

I'm smitten with how the bathroom turned out. Paint really does a lot! My son approves, as well. He saw it and said, "Oh, wow! It looks awesome, Mom! I love it!" That, of course, made me smile and gave me that extra boost of motivation to work on his room. More on that later.

Back to the bathroom. Remember the before pictures from Friday? Hint: Blah and dirty gray.

And now for the details...

I switched out the standard towel bar for the coat hooks board thingy (getting specific here) that I made. It was previously stationed in the mudroom, but I took it down once we had our built-ins installed. It's perfect for the boys' bathroom since they are too little to hang a towel up on a towel bar. Hooks solve that problem. I swapped out the clear glass (Preggo) jar that was previously on it, and replaced it with a blue mason jar for an extra pop of color.

Now for the new artwork. I just hopped on my photoshop and whipped this little gem right up. My son is always talking about his bathroom being the boys' bathroom and mine being the girls' (even though my husband uses "mine"). I like my artwork to be custom (if it can) and to reflect who we are, so this seemed like a great option. I popped it into a freshly spray painted frame that we had around and wala!

The bathmat and chevron hand towels are from Target. I love how they tie in a lot of different boyish colors, and allow for me to have mismatched towels in there.

So, friends, what do you think? I'm wondering if I need any art for above the hooks?

I'm sure I will tweak it a tad in the future, but for now I am really pleased! Next on the bathroom list is a bathtub toy scooper thingy (or whatever they are called). We usually end up leaving the toys in the bottom of the tub which makes it harder on me when it's time to clean it. Solving problems, one day at a time.

WAIT!!! As for the motivation for my son's room (remember?)... Well, we purchased his bunk bed this weekend. But SHHHHHH!! It's a secret for Christmas.
