King Bed

We have upgraded from a queen bed to a king bed! Hallelujah!

*****

A platter of flaming sushi arrived at our table around 5:45 on Wednesday night. My husband and I were on a date. My quality time cup had been running on empty for a while, but I had to give myself pats on the back for being patient. Our moment together had finally arrived. Both boys were spending the evening at Grandma's house leaving us with a couple of hours to ourselves to do as we pleased. Sushi. It's always sushi for us, even when I'm pregnant ( I just eat the fully cooked rolls). Our history here goes way back. In fact, we even got engaged over a sushi dinner at that very same restaurant. What can I say? I'm a sucker for nostalgia!

We dined happily for about an hour and then it was time to go. We certainly had more time to spare before the boys returned home, so we decided mattress shopping it was. Finally, a bed big enough to comfort my growing belly, our growing family, and my six-foot-nine husband. Stay a few nights at a luxury bed and breakfast and you'll be wanting to upgrade your mattress and sheets too!

It's arriving later today. I'm spending the morning clearing out our clothing from the current bed. It's an island bed that has a huge drawer on each side. I'm slightly perplexed as to what to do with that clothing once the bed is in our guest room. Future dresser purchase, hubby? Are you reading this? ;)

If I happen to find myself with some down time later today I will also be researching headboard DIYs, textured headboards, sheets, and bedding options. I'm giddy about a true reason to purchase new bedding! Now the pressure is on for sure. I know for a fact that we are NOT and can NOT be duvet owners ever again. Duvets and the McCarters do not mesh well. It's a shame too because there are so many beautiful duvets out there, but with age comes wisdom and I know better. I'm talking myself away from them if you can't tell. Just a few reminders for when I'm online shopping later. Wish me luck!

One last look... and see ya later, queen!

We've been busy enough this past month and need to rest, so we are staying put this holiday weekend. Maybe we will get a lot accomplished around the house OR maybe we will just be lazy.

I'll let you know next week. Happy Sleeping!
