About

Hi there! Welcome to Interior Fun!
I truly am honored that you are here and reading this page.

Interior Fun was developed to document our personal adventures of joyful living at home

We hope to inspire others to create a beautiful & comfortable home environment where their family can enjoy life together, thriving as both a unit and as individuals.

My husband and I have been married for 6 years. We met during my freshmen year of college. The hubs and I actually got married when I was still finishing school -- I had one semester left. We were so young, but in love. Life got crazy fast! We started a company, found out we were pregnant (surprise!) and began planning a "grown up" future for ourselves.

Our first house together was a small, ranch farm house. We rented it from my parents. It's actually where my mom and sister live now. We were completely blessed to be able to build our own home for our first real home together! We had dreams of being able to do this, but in our minds that wasn't going to be for quite sometime. So, after two years at the farm house we moved into our custom built home.

We moved in shortly after our oldest son turned one. At that time, only our main floor was completely finished. Around 5 months later we finished our basement, which doubled our house size(errr, and my cleaning).

When our second son was born, we decided it would be best that I stayed at home full-time. I used to work part-time with my husband doing graphic design work for his company. I absolutely LOVED it. I discovered an unknown passion for design and creativity that I never really realize I had! I now run my own small photography & design business. So, professionally, I do photography in Springfield, MO. This works well with my SAHM status, as most photography sessions are scheduled when my husband is available.

Staying at home full time was and is harder than I expected. I started this blog for a lot of reasons. I needed a "creative outlet" and somewhere to keep my skills in use. I wanted to stay sharp. I also started it for accountability to work on things I love, to make sure that I made time for myself and my interests.

And you know what? So far it's filling those needs for me!

It's also exceeding my expectations as I've learned so much more about blogging, social media, internet marketing, etc. I feel like I'm in a continuing education course, which is awesome. I've also gain new friends through "blog world" which is a pleasant bonus!

Each season brings something new, and we are in this journey together.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you come back often.
